Dell Inspiron 11 3000- A Bridge Between a Slate Tablet and a Clamshell Laptop

Dell Inspiron 11 3000

If you are looking for an entry level convertible hybrid laptop, then the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 Series 2-in-1 is the perfect one for you. It has some amazing features and the best part is that the screen of the laptop flips around without getting detached to the keyboard, making it look more like a tablet.

Design and features

The Inspiron 11 3000 comes with a 10-point touch screen that is 11.6 inch long and has a stunning resolution of 1,366-by-768. With fairly large dimensions of 0.83 by 12 by 8 inches, a weight of just 3 pounds seems relatively light. It feels perfect on the hands and can be used easily with one hand in the slate-tablet mode. The screen is quite sensitive to the swipes and taps and plays 720p HD videos without any glitches. The screen can be flipped into four different types of mode with each mode having its own utility.

The system comes with a good selection of I/O ports that include an SD card reader, an HDMI port, a single USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports. The laptop has a 4 GB RAM and a hard drive with 500 GB worth of space. Although the hard drives are slower than the solid-state drives, you get a lot of space for all your files. The system has only a small number of pre-loaded apps and comes with a warranty of one year.

Performance

Performance-wise, the 2.16 GHz Intel Pentium N3530 quad-core processor is nowhere near exceptional, but it is quite satisfactory as the processor also has an Intel HD Graphics. It works much better than some of the other similar systems in the market. The system looked in good order when it was subjected to multimedia tests. The Inspiron 11 3000 has decent speed for an entry-level system, and is more than sufficient for a regular day-to-day use.

Advantages and disadvantages

The Inspiron 11 3000 has the following advantages-

  • It has a fairly long battery life of 8 hours
  • It is sturdy and is comfortable to hold even after being compact and thin.
  • It has full-size HDMI port

The Inspiron 11 3000 has the following disadvantages-

  • Hard to differentiate between USB 3.0 and USB 2.0.
  • Aggressive screen dimming and low keyboard flex.

For a price of $450 this is a laptop you can buy without thinking twice. You can get this system at your nearest computer rental center.
